BIOGRAPHY
Growing up in Waterbury, Connecticut with a passion for hairstyling, John Ruggiero knew the city was where he needed to be. Determined and curious, John moved to New York where he began a two-year apprenticeship with the prestigious hair care brand Bumble & bumble. During his time at Bumble, John established his foundations working in the hair industry and honed his skills. In his spare time, John gained even more experience styling hair at fashion shows in New York and throughout Europe, and soon became a Bumble educator.
After Bumble, John started another two-year intensive apprenticeship working with the top fashion editorial hair stylist, Ward. Working with Ward opened many doors for John as he assisted on jobs with highly respected names in the fashion and beauty industry such as Steven Meisel, Tom Munro, and Peter Lindbergh. After his time with Ward, John worked very closely for a year with famed fashion and celebrity hairstylist, Danilo.
With an impressive background and a desire for something new, John made the decision to move to Los Angeles. In eight years, John has worked with top celebrities including Kate Beckinsale, Drew Barrymore, Amber Heard and Mireille Enos. His magazines credits include Vogue, Harpar’s Bazaar, and Vanity Fair, and he has worked with photographers including Terry Richardson, Nicholas Moore, Steven Klein, Yu Tsai and Ellen Von Unwerth. John’s advertising clients include Guess and BCBG.
Currently, John resides in Los Angeles working on editorial shoots and celebrity clients, as well as continuing to style hair for fashion shows in New York and Europe.
