ROBIN BLACK / MAKE-UP
Raised on a boat in the South Pacific with an American father and a Japanese mother, Robin Black was fascinated from an early age with art and culture. Her education in fine art and interest in fashion led her to pursue a career as a make up artist. Robin's modern perspective on beauty and unique style has made her one of the rising stars of the make up world. Her skill at creating flawless skin as well as her fearless approach has garnered her a serious following among editors, photographers, designers and celebrities.Robin's impressive roster of publications includes Vogue (US, Italia and Paris), Elle (US, UK and Italia), Harper’s Bazaar (US and UK), Interview, 10 Magazine, Vanity Fair and Allure. She has worked with acclaimed photographers such as Ellen Von Unwerth, Michel Comte, Craig McDean, Alasdair McLellan, Norman Jean Roy, Cedric Buchet, Tierney Gearon, Koto Bolfo, Sebastian Kim and Serge LaBlon. Robin has keyed prestigious New York Fashion Week shows including Diane Von Furstenburg and Damien Hirst for Warhol Factory X as well as worked with famous faces such as Chloe Sevigny, Demi Moore, Bryce Dallas Howard, Eva Mendes, Olivia Wilde, Rosario Dawson and Kristen Bell. Also of note, her work in art films and video installations has been displayed in the Tate Museum, the Whitney Biannual and the MOMA.
Robin currently splits her time between New York and Los Angeles. She finds inspiration in nature, art, books, music, her partner in crime and her crazy creative friends.
